The electric actuators from DCL combine compact size with rugged durability, meeting demanding military-industrial standards. Their all-metal gears and housing — driven by a fully enclosed, heavy-duty squirrel-cage asynchronous induction motor — allow frequent full-stroking (open to close) under constant vibration and overload conditions, delivering exceptionally long service life. Unlike actuators that rely on plastic gears or bearings, DCL’s robust construction makes them suitable for heavy-industry applications — including nuclear power plants and warships — where reliability and safety are paramount. At the same time, their relatively small footprint and reasonable cost make them popular in civilian installations with limited space or budget.

DCL actuators can optionally be fitted with a standard handwheel, whether the unit is a standard or explosion-proof type. To make manual operation safer, an emergency power-off button is conveniently located on the back of the actuator — allowing operators to quickly cut power before switching to manual control. When the handwheel is pressed in, a declutching mechanism engages the worm gear so the handwheel drives the valve directly. This manual override gives added flexibility whenever the powered status of the actuator is uncertain.
