Across industrial plants, underground facilities, energy sites, wastewater treatment plants, and large public buildings in Europe and North America, automation demand for vent valves, air dampers, and exhaust systems is growing. Compared with small fluid valves, large-diameter vent valves usually have larger blade areas and higher operating resistance, placing greater requirements on electric actuator torque, mounting structure, and operating stability.
For these applications, actuator selection should not rely only on valve size. Engineers also need to consider blade structure, sealing type, airflow resistance, operating frequency, installation position, and site conditions.
Large-diameter vent valves may be affected by air pressure, dust accumulation, sealing friction, and structural deviation during opening or closing. If actuator torque is undersized, the valve may not reach the required position or may face higher overload risk.
The DCL series covers multiple torque levels. Its standard time/torque range is listed from 15S/16Nm to 110S/3000Nm, with maximum torque from 24Nm to 3900Nm. In the valve match reference, the series supports vent valve applications up to DN1000–1200. These values provide practical selection references for DN-level ventilation valve automation.
Vent valves may be installed on rooftops, pipe corridors, equipment floors, underground spaces, or near process areas. Common site factors include humidity, dust, temperature variation, long cable routing, and limited maintenance space.
The DCL series offers standard IP67 protection with optional IP68, an ambient temperature range of -25°C to +55°C, and 360-degree installation at any angle. For projects requiring BMS, PLC, or remote monitoring integration, the modulating series supports 4–20mADC, 1–5VDC, and 2–10VDC input signals, with 4–20mADC output feedback for valve position control.
In large vent valve applications, the value of a high-torque actuator is not simply higher output. It is about matching actuator capacity with actual valve load. Combined with over-torque protection, optional fail-safe return, and waterproof cable connectors, the actuator can better handle complex operating conditions in industrial ventilation systems.
DCL electric actuators can be used in industrial ventilation, HVAC, water treatment, wastewater systems, industrial pipelines, chemical fluid control, and energy facilities. The series includes on-off, modulating, fail-safe, and high-torque options for automated ball valve, butterfly valve, and vent valve control.
